How Art Stox works

Every artwork is a live portfolio of tokenized stocks. The picture and the position are the same object — so everything that happens to one happens to the other, and you can read a token's whole history off its face.

01 What a token is

One artwork, one portfolio, the same thing.

02 Its traits

TraitValues
SetAI Silicon, Hyperscale, Rails, Moonshots, Main Street, Index, Old Money, Coins — each with its own colour family
DARTS ★~1%. Ignores the set rule and pulls 3–7 at random from everywhere. Mint-only: born-random can never be bred
GroundPaper for most, Colour for 3%, Black for every DARTS
ShapeSquares, Circles, Triangles, or one of three mixes
ConglomerateSet the moment a piece takes on a ticker from another set. Permanent
MergesHow many artworks this one has eaten
VaultedUSD value of real stock held inside the artwork, priced live

03 What it earns

Stake a piece and it pays you $ARTSTOX every day, at a rate set by how its portfolio actually performs.

RuleValue
Base rate40 $ARTSTOX a day, halving every 180 days
Performance multiplier1 + 50 × the day's return, floored at 0.25×, capped at 4×
MeasuredOnly while staked. Holding a winner since mint earns nothing on its own
Over a token's life~14,400 $ARTSTOX at 1.0×, three quarters of it in year one
ClaimingAny time, no gates, and you don't have to unstake
Opens3 days after the collection mints out
This is where the sets stop being a colour scheme. An Old Money piece of treasuries and silver earns steadily and rarely spikes. A Moonshots piece of quantum and rockets will have 4× days and 0.25× days. DARTS is unpredictable by construction.

04 What you can do to it

Four actions. This is the whole list — nothing else changes a piece.

ActionCostsWhat happensOpens
Add shares120 $ARTSTOX
+ 1% of the stock
(2% for a new ticker)
Real stock enters the artwork. That ticker's weight rises, so it takes more of the canvas.+10d
Add off-set shares360 $ARTSTOX
+ the same in-kind fee
The same, except the piece becomes a Conglomerate forever. It is no longer the set it was born as.+10d
Reroll400 $ARTSTOX
doubling every time
Resets the picture. Same portfolio, new composition — and the rings and the dead floor are wiped with it. The piece can then be built back up.+10d
Merge1,200 $ARTSTOX
×1.5 per prior merge
Burns another artwork into this one. The portfolios combine, and supply falls by one permanently. You must already own both.+14d
Shares go in and never come out. There is no withdraw. The only way a ticker ever leaves a piece is being dropped by a merge that pushed it past ten — and those shares are gone. Your liquidity is the artwork itself, which carries the stock with it when you sell. What you earn is separate and always yours.

05 What the art does about it

Every action leaves its own mark, so a token's history is legible without opening its metadata. These four are live — they are rendering right now.

UntouchedTicker letters on paper. No colour, no rings — nothing has happened to it yet.
Merged ×3Every merge lays a coloured ring in the frame, newest outermost — and the portfolio now carries what it ate. Colour is earned.
Shares killedOver the ten-ticker cap, so SPY and SLV had to die. They sink to the bottom as outlines, taking exactly the share they held, and never move again.
RerolledSame portfolio, a new composition, history wiped. The squares in the corners are the one thing a reset can never clear.
And one mark you don't choose. When a company delists its price feed simply stops. After ninety days of silence that holding freezes: its letters lose their colour to ash and stop answering the market. Every other mark is something you did — this one is done to you.

06 The token

$ARTSTOX comes from exactly two places, and both are fixed at deploy forever.

Nobody can print $ARTSTOX. That isn't a policy — it is structural, and it cannot be undone. Other collections can take it as payment and spend it, but they can never mint it.
